Troy assisted living resident found dead

Troy Police are investigating after a 77-year-old woman was found dead early Tuesday in the 1900 block of SRA Bradley R Smith Drive.
Kathleen Kinkel, a longtime resident of Troy, was discovered about 8:19 a.m. in what a police news release described as an open area south of the aforementioned address. Police stated there was no indication of foul play.
National Weather Service records show the temperature at 7:25 a.m. Tuesday, about an hour before Kinkel was found, was 11 degrees.
FOX 2 News of St. Louis reports Kinkel was a resident of Aspen Creek Assisted Living and Memory Care, which is located near the location her body was discovered. Relatives told the television station she was seen on video leaving the facility alone about 2 a.m. Tuesday.
Calls to Aspen Creek Assisted Living of Troy on Friday were not immediately returned.
Aspen Creek of Troy is an Alzheimer’s care center and part of The Creeks Memory Support Residences, which includes facilities in Sullivan, Illinois and Cottonwood Creek, Wyoming, according to the company’s website. The president is listed as Teresa Crawford, who started the business with her husband Brian.
The facility in Troy where Kinkel lived has monitored exits and onsite management, according to the website.
