Cleo K. Kruckeberg
Cleo Kruckeberg, 75, of Troy, IL, born Tuesday, July 22, 1947 in Alton, IL and passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023 in Maryville, IL.
Cleo worked 25 years with his father in the Kruckeberg Excavating Company, with his uncle in Kohlmiller Construction, retiring from the Village of Glen Carbon where he worked for many years. He was a member of the Marine Lodge #355 A.F. & A.M., Marine , IL and Ainad Shriners. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and camping trips. Cleo was an avid race car fan and especially enjoyed watching when his son was driving.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleo F. and Mildred (nee Kohlmiller) Kruckeberg.
Surviving are his wife, Peggy L (nee Gross) Kruckeberg whom he married July 25, 1998 in Edwardsville, IL; children, Kenneth “Butch” (Brandy Rheinacker) Kruckeberg of Edwardsville, IL and Christine (Dave) Hobbs of East Alton, IL; his step-children, Joe Cole of Highland, IL, Rebecca (Gary) Schreader of Collinsville, IL and Christina Jacoby of Waynesboro, TN; 8 step grandchildren; 6 step great-grandchildren; his brother, Robert (Joyce) Kruckeberg; and his sister, Carol (Sam) Eifert; sister-in-law Theresa (Terry) Dyer, and brothers-in-law, Wayne, Bobby and Mark Gross and Ron (Sue) Gross; nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

Visitation for Cleo will be held 5 to 7 pm on Friday, February 10, and 10 to 11 am noon on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, IL.
