The Collinsville Kahok club hockey team took their first round series two games to none to win their quarterfinal playoff series and advance to the second round of the MVCHA Playoffs.
In their opener at the Granite City Ice Rink, the Kahoks took a 3-1 victory over Freeburg-Waterloo in the 9 p.m. contest.
Tanner Bettis had two goals and an assist while Benjamin Klein also picked up a goal.
Preston Tillman and Eric Denny each had an assist in the contest.
Landen Roedl had 15 saves in 16 attempts for Collinsville.

F/W took a 2-0 lead in the first before the Kahoks stormed back with seven unanswered goals.
Tanner Bettis and Andy Bennett each scored twice while Ben Klein, Lincoln Duffy, and Eric Denny all had one each.
Upcoming Schedule
This week the Kahoks are facing off with traditional MVCHA stalwart Granite City.
The best-of-three series began Monday in Granite. It continued Tuesday night at the McKendree Metro Rec Plex in O’Fallon.
If necessary game three will be Thursday evening back in O’Fallon.
