Collinsville gave up four goals in the second period and couldn’t recover as the defending MVCHA champions from Granite City beat the Kahoks 5-2 at the McKendree Metro Rec Plex in O’Fallon on Feb. 14. The loss ended the season for Collinsville as Granite swept the series 2-0.

Granite scored on one of their two penalty shots and found themselves up 2-0 until late in the game when the Kahoks were able to get a goal from senior Andy Bennett.
Collinsville wasn’t able to score despite the extra man as they fell behind in their second round series 1-0 at the Granite City Ice Rink on Feb. 13.
Season recap
Including the playoffs, Collinsville finished the year at 15-10-3. They went 2-2 in the playoffs beating Freeburg/Waterloo in the first round series.
They placed fifth in the league standings.
