Carol Diane Miller

Carol Diane Miller was born on March 1, 1949, in Amarillo, Texas to Millard and Dollie (Johnson) Currie. She passed away on March 6, 2023, in Troy, Illinois.

Carol grew up in Happy, Texas along with her sisters: Kay, Dorothy, and Sue. She graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1967 and then went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at West Texas A&M University. She worked as a kindergarten teacher until her retirement in 1977. After her retirement she had her own in-home daycare.

On June 22, 1973 Carol married her soulmate, Glen Burrow Miller at the First Baptist Church in Tulia, Texas. To this union two daughters were born: Brittany and Trevi.

Carol loved being Granny to her three grandsons: Asher, Beau, and Timmy. Her hobbies included reading and attending plays at the Fox Theater in St. Louis, Missouri. She enjoyed spending time outside and loved being around animals (especially horses, dogs and cats). We also can’t forget that she was an avid Oklahoma State fan.

Carol is survived by daughters Brittany Miller of Troy, Illinois and Trevi Holland of Oklahoma City; her boys, her pride and joy, her grandsons – Asher, Beau, and Timmy Holland; ,sister Kay Jones of Argyle, Texas ; sister-in-law Brenda Shepherd and husband Tommy of Canyon, Texas; brother-in-law Ken Miller and wife Cherri of Amarillo, Texas; brother-in-law Gary Miller of Allen Texas; sister-in-law Linda Miller of Dallas, Texas; and brother-in-law Gary Simms of Amarillo, Texas.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband Glen who she lovingly took care of until his death in 2017, her parents Millard and Dollie Currie, and her sisters Dorothy Simms and Sue Thompson.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Moore Baptist Church (301 N.E. 27th St., Moore, OK 73160) with Pastor Charlie Blount officiating. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home – Guthrie, Oklahoma.
