The Collinsville girls track team wrapped up their indoor season by taking part in the Jersey Winter Thaw at Principia College in Elsah on March 11.
Deairra Spears had the best finish with a time of 8.14 in the 60 meters with a time of 8.14 seconds. Alaina Lester of Belleville Althoff won with a time of 7.85 seconds.
In the 200 meters, Talesha Gilmore took fifth place with a time of 28.48 seconds. Once again Lester of Althoff won this race. She ripped off a time of 26.35 seconds.
Craig Hall took fifth place in the shot put with a toss of 10.14 meters or 33’ 3 ¼”. Emily Sykes of Granite City won the competition with a heave of 11.50 or 37’ 8 ¾”.
The 4×200 meter relay team of Ragin Clemons, Tillman, Gilmore and Spears took fifth place with a time of 1:54.74. Waterloo took the top finish with a time of 1:50.15.
Upcoming Schedule
The Kahoks resume their track & field slate on March 21 at home with their first outdoor meet against Granite City. On March 24 they are at Edwardsville for the Southwestern Illinois Relays.
