The Collinsville girls softball team opened their season with a pair of losses last week.
They opened the year with a 10-0 loss in five innings at Roxana on March 14.
Faith Fairchild, Marissa Thomas, and Emma Hylton picked up hits for the Kahoks.
Audrey Shemwell and Thomas split time in the circle for CHS. Out of the ten runs the Shells scored only two were earned as the Kahoks committed eight errors.
Roxana stands at 3-0 after one week of play.
Two days later the Kahoks dropped a 24-1 decision in five innings to Mascoutah at home.
Lexi Rafalowski scored the Kahok run in the bottom of the first.
She led off the inning with a walk before stealing second and third. She came home on Katie Bardwell’s bunt single to first.
Faith Fairchild picked up the CHS hit.
Thomas and Aubrey Mason saw time in the circle. The CHS defense committed eight errors on the day.
Upcoming Schedule
The Kahoks hosted Bethalto (Civic Memorial) Monday and played at Freeburg yesterday.
They play at Jerseyville tomorrow and host Naperville (North) Saturday.
