The Collinsville High School girls soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision at Belleville West on March 28 in their only match last week.
Jordan Gary got the Kahoks off to a 1-0 lead with her goal late in the opening half, but the Maroons knotted the game by halftime before connecting on a penalty kick in the second half for the final margin.
Megan Jeremias had the assist for the Kahoks.
“The effort was there tonight so I commend them on that but we gave up two preventable goals that unfortunately cost us the game,” said CHS coach Jodie Munoz. “All we can do is learn from it and move on.”
On March 25, the Kahoks and Columbia played to a scoreless draw at Kahok Stadium.
Karly Van Dyke recorded the shutout in goal for CHS making five assists.
CHS dropped a 2-1 decision against SWC foe Belleville East on March 23 at Fletcher Field.
Kyra Van Dyke had the goal for the Kahoks.
Edwardsville beat the Kahoks 5-0 on March 21 in Edwardsville.
Collinsville played at Alton Tuesday night however results were unavailable at press time. They host O’Fallon tonight before hosting Piasa (Southwestern) on Saturday.
