Storms approaching Troy

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 10 a.m. for all of Madison County, according to the National Weather Service. 

The NWS has also issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the area, posting that Showers and thunderstorms are expected for portions of the area through early afternoon and some of these storms may be severe.

At the time of this writing, thunderstorms were immediately west of Troy, part of a line of storms that stretched from the Upper Michigan Peninsula to Texas. Heavy rain is expected here and in surrounding areas.
