Fire District Appointments Forwarded
By Randy Pierce
Seventeen individuals are slated to be approved at the regular monthly meeting of the Madison County Board on Wednesday, April 19, for appointments to positions involved in various fire districts within its jurisdiction.
Stacey Pace of Troy is chairman of the board’s government relations committee which had considered and unanimously approved recommendations for these appointments and six others at its meeting held on Tuesday, April 4.
Up for reappointments of three years each to fire protection district boards of trustees through May 1, 2026, are Luke Harris – Glen Carbon, Eric Wortham – Collinsville and Curtis Outland – State Park Place at the west end of Collinsville.
Phillip Taylor has been recommended for a two-year reappointment through May 29, 2023, to the Madison County Board of Review while Chris Herzog and George Ellis were approved by the government relations committee for five-year terms through May 1, 2028 on the St. Louis Regional Airport Authority and county’s zoning board of appeals, respectively.
In response to a question from one of the committee members, Shawndell Williams of Granite City, it was pointed out that County Board Chairman Kurt Prenzler had proposed all of the individuals for appointments or reappointments after speaking to the county board members representing the appropriate districts and that there may be more, for other areas, coming forward next month.
