The Collinsville girls track team had some solid performances at the O’Fallon Invitational on April 14. They finished in 10th place with 33 points while Edwardsville took top honors with 136 points.
In the 100 meters, Deairra Spears from Collinsville took third place with a time of 13.02 seconds. De Andranay Chism of Belleville East won with a time of 12.51 seconds.
Spears took fourth in the 200, with a time of 26.75 seconds with Chism running a 24.99 to win it.
In the 800 meters, Catalina Jimenez ran a time of 2:40.37 for seventh place while Ellie Bush ran a 2:27.02 to win it for O’Fallon.
The 100 hurdles saw Paulina Gutierrez-Trejo run a time of 20.07 seconds good for seventh place while Da’Wyriah Blanchard of Belleville West won with a time of 16.37 seconds.
In the 300 hurdles, Danajah Willis ran a time of 54.48 seconds while Blanchard completed the double for the hurdles with a time of 47.77 seconds.
The shot put saw Kahok Craig Hall take sixth with a toss of 10.30 meters or 33’ 7” while Emily Sykes of Granite City won the event with a mark of 12.30 meters or 40’ 3”.
In the 4×100 meter relay, the CHS team of Spears, Ragin Clemons, Talesha Gilmore, and Aubrey Kohler ran a time of 51.79 seconds for seventh place. Belleville East won in 48.52 seconds.
The 4×800 meter relay saw the CHS team of Layla Grigsby, Danielle Cay, Claire Garkie, and Heidi Duque run a time of 11:11.10 while Edwardsville ran a 10:00.75.
Collinsville travels to the EHS Tiger Invite tomorrow before heading to Granite City for the Madison County Invite
