Triad tennis continued their unbeaten stretch last week with victories over five area squads.
The first came against Mississippi Valley Conference foe Waterloo on April 11. The Bulldogs are also one of ten teams that will compete alongside Triad at the Alton Marquette Sectional next month.
Triad prevailed in 8-1 fashion in the league meeting.
In the top seeded double slot, Andrew Carter and Ethan Stewart won for the Knights. Other victories came from Jameson Chacon, Joe Cass, Caden Little and AJ Mills.
The Knights returned to action the following day to host the Jersey Panthers. Jersey finished third at last year’s IHSA Sectional at Chatham with three state qualifiers.
Triad recorded their second 8-1 win of the week in this matchup. Carter teamed up with Ethan Stewart for another doubles victory and Jake Stewart served up a win at number one singles.
Eight other Knights contributed wins as well. This lineup featured Chacon, Cass, Marc Froidcoeur, Little, Dillon Henderson, Jake Maslowski, Mills and Lance Stauffer.
Rounding out their week on April 14, Triad hosted in Althoff, Centralia and O’Fallon. Both O’Fallon and Althoff reached the state finals last season and the latter will compete with the Knights at this season’s sectional.
None of the visitors bested the hosts, leaving the Knights with three 6-0 wins.
Victorious Triad players included Carter, Cass, Froidcoeur, Henderson, Little, Mills, Ethan Stewart and Jake Stewart.
