It was a tough ending to the regular season for the Collinsville High boys volleyball team last week as they dropped three matches, two of them in three sets.
They opened the week on May 15 with a tough loss at home to Father McGivney 25-27, 25-20, 25-21.
Collinsville registered 49 kills in the match with John Carl leading the way, burning 13 of them. Tyrone Ealy had 10 while Stanley Carnahan had eight and Jake Wilkinson seven.
The Kahoks had 46 assists with Luke Geisen recording 36 of them and Carl was credited with five.
Blocking-wise, Ealy had three while Carl and Carnahan had two each.
Father McGivney was 16-9 following last week’s matches.
Alton loss
The following night Collinsville dropped their final SWC match of the season 25-15, 34-36, 25-21.
CHS had 25 kills during that match with Carl having eight, L. Geisen six, Ealy three and Jack Geisen three.
Geisen had five blocks while Carnahan had four.
Once again L. Geisen led in assists with 17 while J. Geisen had three.
Carl and J. Geisen each had two aces.
Alton was 11-15 after last week and 3-6 in conference action..
Althoff defeat
Belleville Althoff improved to 19-5 on the season after beating the Kahoks 25-22, 25-11 in Fletcher Gym.
Wilkinson and Talbott had three kills each for the Kahoks while Ealy came away with three blocks.
Geisen had eight assists and Matthew Falbe had two.
Upcoming Schedule
Collinsville faced Waterloo (Gibault) in the O’Fallon Regional Monday afternoon however results were unavailable at press time. If they won they faced top-seeded O’Fallon on Tuesday.
