Jamie Lynn (Hildreth) Runion

On September 14, 2023, Jamie Lynn (Hildreth) Runion passed away at age 40 surrounded by loving family members at Evelyn’s House, a peaceful hospice facility in Creve Coeur, MO. Jamie was committed to fighting colon cancer, and fought she did.
Jamie followed every dream she ever had.
Jamie married Josh Runion on November 11th 2006 and together they built a beautiful, adventure filled life and created a wonderful family.
Two of her biggest dreams came true on November 14, 2008 when Hayden Joel was born, and on September 15, 2015 when Olivia Sloan was born. She loved being their mom and was unbelievably proud of her children.
Jamie found her true passion in yoga. She obtained her ERYT-200 certification in the fall of 2019 shortly thereafter taught yoga anywhere and everywhere she could.  Jamie opened Lotus Yoga Studio in Maryville in 2021, a dream realized.  Teaching yoga that was accessible to all fueled her soul. Lotus Yoga was named Best of the Best in 2021.
Jamie was always making plans. The next weekend getaway, checking out the newest restaurant, going to fancy brunch or a concert, something was always in the making. She lived a full and vivacious life.
Jamie was an active community member, Jamie was an active volunteer in her community, serving on the St. Jacob Village Board as a Trustee from 2019 to 2022, St. Jacob Homecoming Committee Chair in 2022, St. Jacob grade school PTO, and member of St. Jacob Lions Club.  She was a great cook, a business owner, and a yogi.  Her passions included music, healthy living, travel, fall leaves, Chris Farley movies, and most importantly, her family and friends.    If you were loved by Jamie, you knew it, every day. Jamie’s love is the kind that makes you want to be the best version of yourself, and make the world a better place. She never missed an opportunity to say “I love you”.
A self proclaimed Daddy’s Girl, she is preceded in death by Darin P. Hildreth, devoted father, enthusiastic softball coach, and the man who helped mold her into the fiercely loving person we all knew. Also preceded in death by her brother Bryan E. Reynolds and her grandfather’s Laurence “Larry” Hildreth and Jerry E. Sloan.
She is survived by Josh Runion and their children, Hayden (14) and Olivia (8) of St. Jacob IL;  Adam Vick of Belleville IL, her partner and caretaker who saw to it that she spent the time since her diagnosis being well taken care of and happy.  Her mother Christy L. Sloan of Highland IL, who loved Jamie fiercely, was so incredibly proud of the woman and mother Jamie had become, and with whom she shared so many laughs. Her sister, Annie C. Reynolds of Highland, IL; brothers, Jason P. (Jacenta) Hildreth of Highland, IL and Robert R. Reynolds of Granite City, IL; grandmothers, Phyllis Sloan of O’Fallon, MO and Sandy Hildreth of Lake St. Louis, MO; mother-in-law, Vicki S. (Tony) Norton of Columbia, IL and father-in-law, Robert R. (Beth) Runion of Belleville, IL. As well as her aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and countless friends including her lifelong best friends Tiffany and Amy who were side by side with Jamie through every step.
Jamie would not want those who love her to sit around feeling sorry for themselves. She would want us to celebrate her legacy, share funny stories, laugh until we snort, hug our children, and spend time with those we love. She would also want us to “check our butts!” as she was an advocate of life-saving early detection.
