Cathy L. Leathers

Cathy L. Leathers, 81, of Troy, IL, born Tuesday, July 21, 1942 in Bangor, ME and passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, IL,
Cathy was a faithful member of Troy Methodist Church.  She was a member of MWL and also volunteered for over 30 years at Anderson Hospital, Maryville and Ministries Unlimited in Troy, IL.  She enjoyed camping, hiking, gardening and was a member of several sewing groups.
She was preceded in death by her son, Bruce Leathers; parents, David E. and Esther (nee McAfee) Thornton; a brother, Robert B. Thornton and her sister, Shirley Hughston.
Surviving are her husband, James L. Leather Sr.; her children, James L. Leathers Jr. of Troy, IL and Lynn Leathers of Colorado; grandchildren, Colin Leathers, Jenny (Jonas) Gillen, Heather Smith, Gretchen (Andrew) Bremner-Smith and Robert Smith; great-grandchild, Lina Gillen; her sisters, Judy Paraday of Hampden, ME and Karen (Russell) Lowry of Union Grove, AL; nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

Visitation will be held 9:30 am to 11 am on Friday, November 3, 2023 at Troy Methodist Church, Troy, IL.
Funeral services will be held 11 am on Friday, November 3, 2023 at Troy Methodist Church with Rev. Andy Adams and Rev. Dan Perry officiating. Interment in Friedens Cemetery, Troy, IL.
