COLLINSVILLE — America’s Best Contacts and Eyeglasses, an optical retailer has opened up a new location in the Collinsville Crossing Shopping Center.

America’s Best will occupy approximately 3,000 square feet of the retail building at 1071 Collinsville Crossing Boulevard, which is also home to Starbucks and Wingstop. The Collinsville Crossing shopping center is anchored by Walmart and Home Depot. America’s Best is replacing ATI Physical Therapy. The new optical store will have a 10-year lease and plans to open its doors on May 1.

According to David Witzling, property owner and a developer of the shopping center, America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses has over 700 corporately owned locations nationwide. This store will be their first location in this market. Their first location was on Michigan Avenue in Chicago.

“Before America’s Best made the decision to lease the space, other retailers including a national chiropractic clinic were interested,” Witzling said. “Also, America’s Best is the largest seller of designer overstock eyeglass frames in the United States, fulfilling an important need in the community.”

Witzling said that the shopping center is fully occupied with Starbucks being there since the beginning and are expecting major renovations this year, updating to the current national prototype.

“Sprint closed, and I immediately replaced them with Wingstop a few years back, Witzling continued.”

ATI Physical Therapy closed as the physical therapy market softened and their competitor Athletico opened directly across the street and siphoned clients, according to Witzling.

“Collinsville Crossing fulfills all of your daily needs,” Witzling. “The addition of America’s Best the moment ATI closed shows the strength of this shopping center and the need it fills for the community.”
