Glen Carbon Board approves Men’s Victory Health site plan
By Kathy Turner • The Glen Carbon Board on July 22 approved a final site plan for the construction of Men’s Victory Health in Glen Carbon. The facility will be built on Route 157 near Edley’s Bar-B-Que.
The building will include a 9,300-square-foot building that will house a men’s clinic, a women’s clinic, a gymnasium and an interior courtyard. The only variances were regarding the number of parking places. The parking plan was approved with the presentation of documents from Edley’s that constituted a shared parking agreement.
Chad Lucas was at the meeting to present an overview of the village’s 2024 Audit. The report indicated no findings in the review of the village finances for 2024. Lucas and Board member Ben Maliszewski thanked Kelly Korte for her work with the auditors and the work of her department throughout the year to secure the clean audit.
The board approved an ordinance that will impact traffic flow in the Hidden Hills Subdivision of the Village. Under the new ordinance, approved by the public works department and the police department, stop signs will be installed on Hickory Hills Drive, Schon Court, Quail Creek Drive, Park Hills Court and Whispering Pine Drive.
Traffic regulations will also be in place to better regulate traffic flow. No parking signs will be placed in the subdivision and on a cul-de-sac that limits access to the trailhead in that neighborhood.
The board approved a resolution authorizing the police department to secure the professional services of FGM Architect, Inc. The company will do a feasibility study for upgrades to the police department facilities that will better serve the department. The contract with FGM services is not to exceed $20,000.
In final action, the board approved a resolution for the police department to implement a service agreement with Utilitra. The company provides License Plate Recognition (LPR) services throughout the region. The contract will allow Utilitra to coordinate the village’s five LPR units with those of the DEA and other regional systems.
The next meeting of the board will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 12 at 7 p.m.
