Madison County Mental Health Board launches 2026 community survey: your voice, your impact

EDWARDSVILLE — Madison County residents can help shape how local mental health resources grow and respond to community needs through the newly launched 2026 Community Mental Health Survey from the Madison County Mental Health Board (MCMHB).

The survey, conducted every three years, helps ensure local tax levy funds address the evolving behavioral health needs of residents across Madison County.

Under the Community Mental Health Act, the Mental Health Board oversees funding dedicated to three primary pillars of community wellness:

  • Mental Health & Suicide Awareness
  • Substance Use Prevention and Treatment
  • Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD)

Why Your Participation Matters

The data collected through the survey serves as the roadmap for the Board’s One- and Three-Year Strategic Plan, helping guide how local funding supports behavioral health services across the county. By sharing experiences and priorities, residents help identify service gaps, highlight emerging needs, and ensure resources reach the individuals and families who depend on them most.

“We believe the most effective system of care grows from the feedback of the citizens it serves,” said Amber Donnelly, Executive Director of the Madison County Mental Health Board. “This survey allows us to hear directly from families, providers, and individuals about what is working and where we need to focus our resources for the next three years.”

How to Participate

The survey is brief, confidential, and open to all Madison County residents. Whether someone works in the behavioral health field, receives services, or simply cares about the well-being of the community, every perspective helps strengthen the planning process.

About the Madison County Mental Health Board

Madison County voters approved the Mental Health Board in 1966 to support community-based behavioral health services through a local tax levy. The Board funds programs focused on mental health, substance use prevention and treatment, and services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping thousands of residents access care each year.
