Peter Ronald Bopp
June 3, 1941 – June 4, 2026

On June 4, 2026, Peter Ronald Bopp, age 85 of Collinsville, crossed the finish line of his earthly race, and entered heaven to be with his Lord and Savior.

He was born in St. Louis on June 3, 1941, to Kathleen (née Moore) and Peter Robert Bopp. He graduated from Edwardsville High School then enlisted in the United States Navy, proudly serving for six years. After the Navy, he attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. Ron made a career at McDonnell Douglas Corporation retiring as a senior budget engineer in 1996. After retirement, he found joy in selling real estate.

He married Sandy (née Marmon) on Aug. 18, 1972, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. He was so proud of his family – daughters, Shelly, Tammy, Jackie and Joylyn. And his grandchildren – Ryan, Cole, and Beatrice – I bet you heard a story or two about them!

Ron made a difference to a lot of people … he was honest, hardworking and helpful. He was a master craftsman, especially working with wood and stained glass. Our memories of him will always bring a smile and a warm feeling to our hearts.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ken Bopp, and a nephew, Jeff Bopp.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy Bopp; daughters, Shelly (Dennis) Keller, Tammy (Steve) Schaeffer, Jacquelyn (Ben) McGlothlin, and Joylyn Sparkles, and his dear grandchildren. Also, his brother and best friend, Dave (Janet) Bopp, and much-loved nieces, nephews and cousins.

A time of visitation with family and friends will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville. At 11 a.m., will be a service of worship and praise, thanking our great God for giving us a shared life with Ron.
