Editor • At its June 22 board meeting, Triad School District officials presented the latest updates on bond issue construction work at Marine Elementary, Triad High and the new Triad Middle School.
At Marine, the new concrete slab at the school’s main entrance was completed on April 30. The concrete masonry unit block wall went up through May and the storm drain system was finished by May 31.
During June, steel framework was placed over the new library/office space with preparation for the roof to be put on.
Meanwhile, over at Triad High School, Mid-America completed the precast panel installation for the school’s future auditorium. After the panels were put in place, crews were to begin, detailing, grouting and caulking them.
Gelly Excavating has been pouring the foundation walls, following the footing previously poured.
Haier Plumbing is schedule to begin under-slab plumbing rough-ins with the culinary arts/art classroom area.
Camp Electric continues working to put above-ceiling electrical rough-ins with the culinary arts/art area.
These actions all build on what happened in May, when the interior demolition was completed for the 2026 Culinary Arts/Art remodel and the successful installation of sheet piling in a corner of an Art room.

Finally, at the new Triad Middle School, which is scheduled to open in July 2027, the school is really taking shape. Selvaggio Steel worked on the framing and decking in Areas C and E. By mid-May, structural steel for the storm shelter in Area E was installed. Detailing work in Area E continued and the roof decking in Areas B and C was done. By Memorial Day, crews finished the roof decking in Areas B and C while continuing steel detailing in Area E.
Meanwhile, Vee-Jay Cement finished several essential pours in May. The Area D slab is done, as are the ones for the kitchen, career and technical education classrooms and the varsity locker rooms. In Areas B and C, grouting of the column base plats was done in mid-May. Finally, prepping the remaining slabs on grade and deck pours for the first and second floors in Areas B and C.
Lowry Electric worked on rough-ins, progressing from overhead ones to in-wall ones on the second floor and installed light pole bases early in May.
Bel-O Plumbing and Hock Mechanical steadily progressed on overhead and in-wall rough-ins, along with layout and hangar installations on both floors. Rapid Fire Protection continued its own overhead rough-ins on both levels of Area A.
George Weis completed studding the exterior metal and sheathing in mid-May, allowing for the air barrier installation to start while interior framing began on May 9 and advanced rapidly through both floors of Area A. Lakeside Roofing began putting on the school’s roof on May 22.
