Lane closures on Illinois 159 at I-64 in St. Clair County starting July 6

By Tribune Staff • The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced lane closures on Illinois 159 at Interstate 64 in St. Clair County as part of ongoing improvements in the corridor.

Beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, July 6, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Ludwig Drive to Market Place to allow for bridge construction. The lane restrictions will be in place through early fall 2026.

Motorists should expect long delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes during this closure. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
