Joe’s Pizza And Pasta To Open Collinsville Location

By Emily Klein, Reporter

Joe’s Pizza and Pasta, a popular dinner and lunch spot for Troy, will add another location in Collinsville close to the second week in June. After they settle in to the Collinsville address, the Troy location will see expansions.

David McMahan, the owner of the Troy and Collinsville locations doesn’t have a specific date for the opening of the new location, but he is planning on opening early June. The new restaurant is located at 1099 Beltline Rd., next to the Walmart Neighborhood Market. The bulk of the construction is done, and the flooring is being finished up and the Mcmahan is waiting on equipment to be delivered. While not an official opening date, he’s shooting for June 10 and will have a soft opening before the big day.

“Saturday and Sunday night we’ll invite family and friends to do test run, and we’ll open the following Tuesday,” McMahan said. The new location will be closed Monday like the Troy location. “We’ll try to open on Tuesday, try to have a soft opening Saturday and Sunday night, have Monday off and go for it Tuesday.”

McMahan is planning on transferring a few employees to Collinsville, but for the open positions he looked to Facebook to post the openings. In addition to the Facebook postings, there will be open interviews on Thursday, May 23, at the Collinsville location from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

After the Collinsville location of Joe’s is up to a good start, McMahan has plans to expand the Troy location. Joe’s will take over the space that formerly was Chef Gutzler’s Butterfly Patio, expanding the dining room to 40 seats and adding a full bar. The Collinsville Joe’s Pizza and Pasta sits 80 and will have a full bar and five poker game machines.

Joe’s Pizza and Pasta in Troy has relied heavily on social media to create buzz about the new restaurant. McMahan has been posting updates, including pictures, on the construction at the new place.

“Our very first Collinsville post received over 500 shares, so that was a really good positive turnout,” McMahan said. “I’ll be doing another post here closer to opening raffling off a TV, Joe’s t-shirts, and gift certificates.”

A 55-inch LG television will be raffled off on Facebook to celebrate the opening, so Joe’s followers should keep an eye out for the post. The people at Joe’s are happy about the positive feedback and think the raffle will create more talk in the community about the opening.

“I’ll probably have the TV during the restaurant opening where people can see it then put their name in bucket,” McMahan said. “We’ve have a lot of good feedback and I’m excited to get started.”
