Kenneth Ackerman
Kenneth F. Ackerman, 94, of Troy, born Sunday, November 7, 1926 in Troy, and passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020 at his home in Troy.
Kenny was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hamel. He owned and operated KenDons Restaurant in Livingston. He enjoyed riding his bike and rode until summer of 2020. As a young man he was a pin setter at St. Paul’s Lutheran School Bowling Alley. He enjoyed traveling, family vacations, playing dominos, gardening, church sausage suppers and playing the stock market. He started making smoothies 20 plus years ago and continued drinking the juice. Most of all those who knew Kenny knows his moto “My Way”, “Good lord has been so good to me” and “See you in the funny papers”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl W. and Melanie (nee Theise) Ackerman; brothers, Donald and Bill Ackerman; his sister, Ruth Woker.
Surviving are his children, Randy (Carol) Ackerman of Marine, Kurt (Gretchen) Ackerman of Edwardsville, Kathy Poletti of Troy, Debbie (Mike) Abercrombie of Howell, Michigan and Vicki (Rick) Ross of Richmond, VA; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Elaine Ackerman of Troy.
