Katherine “Kathy” Hansel

Katherine “Kathy” Hansel, 54, of Troy, born Thursday, October 27, 1966 in Garden Grove, CA and passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at her home.

Kathy owned and operated Silly Grandma’s Sweet Creations in Troy.  When she was not busy baking her treats she enjoyed golfing, camping and fishing trips as well as watch St. Louis Blues Hockey and Buffalo Bills Football.  Most of all she loved her family and the time she was able to spend with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Mildred (nee Oddo) Willadsen; and her brother Jeffrey Willadsen.

Surviving are her husband, Jeff Hansel whom she married October 6, 2001; her children, James M. (Leslie) Williams of Troy, Nicole M. Tedder of Troy,  Amber L. (Joe) Wheeler of Belleville, Brett (Crystal) Hansel of Troy; Tim (Kim) Hansel of Troy; and Doug (Hayley) Hansel of Collinsville; grandchildren, Emma, Miranda, Kaylynn, Chloe, Chelsea, Makayla, Hayden, Peyton and Lynden Williams, Millie Whiteside, Kali Boisseau, Wyatt Wheeler, Colten, Bailey, Addy, Grant, Heidi and Quinn Hansel, Brayden and Taylor Winte; brothers, Don (Jan) Willadsen and Leo Willdasen; sisters, Rochelle )Larry) McMahan and Cindy (Jason) Marshall; dear friend to many.

Visitation will be 4:30 to 8 pm on Thursday August 19, at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy.

Funeral services will be held 11 am Friday, August 20, 2021 at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy.  Interment in Friedens Cemetery, Troy.
