The Maryville Village Board met on January 5 and started with two public hearings for pre-annexation agreements. There were no questions or concerns related to the two properties at 5605 Woodland Drive and 16 Bliss Terrace, both in unincorporated Collinsville, and both ordinances passed.

The last ordinance passed was the declaration of various pieces of street department equipment surplus. Included in the surplus is materials used when the street department used to repair and service its own vehicles and a 17-inch drill press.

A resolution was passed authorizing action for the demolition of 7513 Stonebridge Golf Drive. The property has sat abandoned with high grass, broken windows, and water in the swimming pool in the back with no cover or gate.

A bid was approved from Donn’s Tree Service for $3,800 to remove a tree at the stormwater drainage area at 33 Gary Avenue

Lastly, Derek Chancey was sworn in as a probationary full-time firefighter/paramedic.

The next meeting will be January 19 at 6:30 p.m.
