VA Metro East Vet Center hosting open house and quilt ceremony

In celebration of Veterans Day, an open house and quilt ceremony will be held 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Metro East Vet Center, 228 West Point Drive in Swansea.

The Quilts of Valor will be presenting handmade quilts to 10 nominated veterans. Additional resources for veterans will be available at the event, including information on the new PACT ACT. The facility will be open for the public to tour. 

Community agency representatives, marital and family counseling, substance abuse, and sexual trauma counseling/referral will also be at the event.

Vet Centers are community-based counseling centers within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs that offer a wide variety of social and psychological services, including professional readjustment counseling to eligible veterans, active-duty service members, National Guard and Reserve components, and their families.
