Collinsville hockey holding strong in week 7

Collinsville’s ice hockey team continues to sit near the top of the MVCHA standings after week seven of play.
The Kahoks sit in 4th place at 5-3-1 good for eleven points. They are tied with O’Fallon with those eleven points but the Panthers have a better winning percentage by virtue of their 5-1-1 record.
Granite City leads the way with a 7-1 mark good for 14 points while Belleville has 13 points at 6-0-1.
Vianney 4 Collinsville 2
Kirkwood, Mo. (Vianney) crossed the river and returned back home with a two-goal victory at the East Alton Ice Rink on Nov. 27.
Andy Bennett had both of the Kahok goals while Eric Denny picked up an assist.
Landen Roedl had eleven saves in the contest.
Collinsville 6 Highland 2
Tanner Bettis registered a hat trick for the purple and white in a game that was suspended in the 2nd period after a hard check behind the net knocked out the plexiglass at East Alton.
Denny and Lincoln Duffy each had goals while Bennett had a goal and an assist.
Roedl was in goal for the Kahoks.

Freeburg/Waterloo broke open a tight game with a five goal outburst in the final period to subdue Collinsville at the Granite City Ice Arena.
Denny and Duffy scored the goals for the Kahoks with Bennett and Ian Yakstis registering the assists.
Roedl had 17 saves in goal.
Upcoming Schedule
The Kahoks faced Triad Monday night however results were unavailable at press time.
Monday they face Belleville at Granite City. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
