TFPD announces details of Santa’s upcoming visit

Times-Tribune staff

A beloved annual event, Troy Fire Protection District this week announced details of Santa’s arrival at the firehouse and fire truck tour of Troy.

Santa is set to arrive and will begin his tour about 5 p.m on Dec. 22, riding through the streets of the city atop a decorated fire truck. Firefighter J.J. Busch said the long-standing tradition is one of the most memorable holiday events of the year.

“It’s just to bring some smiles to the community,” Busch said. “It’s all about them and the kids. If we can make them happy and make them smile, we did our jobs.”

This week firefighters conferred with Santa and laid out the logistics of his visit. A map accompanies this article that outlines his tentative route. Troy firefighters ask that anyone who lives on a cul-de-sac to please park their vehicles in their driveway so the fire truck will have room to turn around.

If St. Nick is unable to visit a particular neighborhood or street, he will make stops at the Tri-Township Public Library and commuter parking lot near the intersection of South Main Street and U.S. Highway 40 to accommodate all the children and adults who wish to see him.

Regular updates will be posted on the TFPD Facebook page as the event draws near.
