The Collinsville boys wrestling team had a series of dual wrestling matches in the opening week of January.
January 3
They began the week with a pair of dual meets at Bethalto (Civic Memorial). They fell to Jacksonville 57-24 and CM 47-28.
Kahok Cameron Minner pinned his Jacksonville opponent in the second period and his CM opponent 48 seconds into the first period.
Scott Snyder pinned both of his opponents that night.
January 4
Collinsville beat Alton on the road by a 42-38 count.
Snyder, Mason Hare, Tyler Minner, Cody Lutz, and Michael Tongay all picked up pins on the evening with Devin Habermehl picking up the quickest pin of the night at 23 seconds.
Snyder’s match was especially impressive.
Collinsville coach Jordan May indicated his win in Alton was to the same wrestler who scored a technical fall win over him a year ago. Snyder was able to pin him at the 3:33 mark.
“He was extremely relentless and he never stopped moving,” said May of Snyder.

CHS traveled to Belleville East and dropped a close 39-36 match up.
Hare picked up a tough win over Rashad Moore while both Cameron and Tyler Minner picked up wins. Cameron’s was by pinfall while Tyler picked up a 5-2 decision over Antwane Taylor.
Snyder had the quickest pin of the night at 22 seconds. He went 4-0 on the week with four pins.
