Collinsville Police investigating Monday homicide

Collinsville police are investigating after an individual was shot dead Monday near Uptown.
Officers were dispatched at approximately 7 p.m to the 200 block of North Seminary to a call of shots fired. Upon their arrival to the scene, officers observed a person with gunshots on the sidewalk between Old Herald Brewery and Hurricanes’ Bar and Grill.
Collinsville paramedics attempted life-saving procedures, but were unsuccessful. The Madison County Coroner pronounced the victim dead at the scene of the incident.
It was reported by witnesses that four individuals were seen running from the area. Police searched the area and found three people fitting the description given by witnesses. They are currently in custody. At this moment, the fourth person of interest is still on the loose.
Police are still in the initial stages of the investigation and have no further information at this time.
The identity of the deceased is not being released until the next of kin has been informed. Anyone with information of this incident, or anyone living in or near the 200 block of N.
