The second full varsity season of boys volleyball came to a close last week at the O’Fallon Regional.
Collinsville won their opening regional game for the second season in a row on May 22 by beating Waterloo (Gibault) 25-11, 25-9.
They ran up against the home squad O’Fallon and dropped a 25-15, 25-14 decision to the Panthers the next night.
Collinsville finished the year at 12-14 and 2-8 in the SWC.
OTHS went on to beat Belleville West in the regional title contest then the SWC champs beat Belleville East in two sets in the sectional semifinal.
The Panthers met New Lenox (Lincoln-Way West) Tuesday in Chicagoland Tuesday night but results were unavailable at press time.
