Troy PD investigate homicide

By Tribune Staff

The Troy Police Department is investigating the death of a Madison County woman who was  found in her home.

In a press release Chief Chris Wasser, Troy PD stated that at 1:30 a.m. officers responded to a wellness check in the 600 block of Lower Marine Road on Sep. 13.

According to the release when officers arrived at the scene they found a 60-year old female inside of the home unresponsive and not breathing. After examining the victim they found that her injuries were not consistent with that of a natural death. Officers performed resuscitative  proceedings until Troy EMS arrived. After all life-saving measures were unsuccessful, the victim was pronounced deceased on-the-scene.

“Our investigators are on-scene, diligently following up on every detail,”  Wasser said. “We anticipate the release of more information tomorrow, once the autopsy is complete.”

The Troy PD is asking anyone with information regarding this incident to please contact their investigators at 618-667-6731. Anonymous tips can be posted via the city of Troy’s website at http://troy.il.us/240/anonympus-complaint.
