CHS Boys Bowlers take on State’s Best in Peoria
COLLINSVILLE — Collinsville traveled to Landmark Lanes in Peoria on Dec. 27 and returned to the Metro East with an eighth-place finish.
Mascoutah continued their solid season with the team title. The state’s number five ranked squad had a pinfall total of 6,288 to outdistance number four ranked O’Fallon by 42 pins.
The Kahoks had a total of 5,770 pins to finish 518 pins out of first.
Daniel Wilde of Collinsville took 16th place with a total of 1,256 to finish 118 pins behind individual champion Carter Barrale of Mascoutah.
Wilde averaged a 209.3 per game.
He rolled games of 224, 224, 214 and 209.
“Daniel has been bowling very, very well,” said CHS coach Sean Hay. “He’s been very consistent. He’s always had the potential but sometimes he undermines himself. Now he’s kind of gotten out of his own way and he’s starting to realize how to not press. This is three tournaments in a row where he’s medaled. That is a mountain better than the past.”
Jacob Taylor and Jace Coats took 31st and 32nd place respectively.
Taylor fired a 1,199 to finish 175 pins out of first with high games of 235, 221 and 204. Coats finished one pin behind rolling high games of 255 and 203. They both averaged 199-plus.
Hayden LaDrew rolled 1,169 to finish 205 pins off the pace. He had high games of 228, 209 and 202.
