Hometown Heroes Banner Nominations Now Open in Maryville

By Kathy Turner

MARYVILLE — The Maryville Community Improvement Board is now accepting applications for banners honoring Hometown Heroes. The banners will be displayed in the Village from the end of May through August.

Residents wishing to honor someone by purchasing a banner may now do so for the 2024 season.  Banners purchased will hang for two consecutive years.

Hometown heroes need not be military, fire or police personnel. They can be anyone who is a hero in your life. The banners are 58 inches by 30 inches and are displayed on telephone poles in the Village during the designated season. Banners include names and two lines of copy along with a photo of the hero.

The cost to nominate someone and publicly recognize the designation is $150. Residents can complete a form on the committee website – [email protected].  Deadline to nominate someone is March 31.
