Triad Girl Bowlers see Tournament Action

TROY — The Triad Varsity girls kicked off January with several tournaments.
First, they bowled Jan. 3 in the Jerseyville Invite held at Bowl Haven Lanes in Alton.  The team finished fourth with a total pinfall of 4,410 for six games and a high team game of 775 which included Junior Riley Reeves with a 199, Freshman Lilly Wright with a 124, Junior Ru Fuller with a 122, Senior Ava Burrelsman with a 162 and Senior Brylee Proffitt with a 168. Four of the girls finished individually in the top 25 with Ru Fuller finishing 21st.  She had a high game of 161 and a 774 series.  Ava Burrelsman finished 14th with a high game of 179 and a 921 series.  Riley Reeves finished 11th with a high game of 199 and a 989 series.  Brylee Proffitt finished 5th with a high game of 188 and a 1,085 series.
On Jan. 6, the team traveled to Carterville and bowled in the Carterville High School Invitational.  The tournament consists of three regular games and 12 games of baker (bowling format).  With multiple competitive teams bowling in the tournament and the 12 games of baker the girls were able to finish 10th as a team.  Three girls were able to bowl their way into the top 50 individually.  Senior Ava Burrelsman finished 31st with a high game of 177 and a 499 series.  Senior Brylee Proffitt finished 36th with a high game of 172 and a 490 series.  Junior Ru Fuller tied for 49th with a high game of 159 and a 411 series.
The Highland Bulldogs hosted the Cross-Town Classic Jan. 17 held at Poplar Junction Lanes and Hi-Top Bowl both in Highland.  Each school participating brings their boys and girl’s teams where they split up and bowl three games at one house, then switch to finish their last three games at the other house.  Triad girls started out at their home house Hi-Top Bowl and finished their day at Poplar Junction.
The Triad girls finished fifth with a total pinfall of 5,007 which included a high game of 914.  Lending a hand to this game was Junior Riley Reeves with a 152 game, Senior Clara Doubet with a 188, Junior Ru Fuller with a 193, Senior Ava Burrelsman with a 187 and Senior Brylee Proffitt with a 194.  Individually the team had multiple girls in the top 35.  Brylee Proffitt tied for third with a total pinfall of 1188 and a 221 high game.  Ava Burrelsman finished 17th with a 189 high game and 1,070 series.  Riley Reeves finished 29th with a 171 high game and 905 series.  Ru Fuller finished 32nd with a high game of 193 and 881 series.  Clara Doubet finished 33rd with a 195 high game and 879 series.  Triad finished 5th as a whole with a boys and girls combined total pinfall of 10,601.
As the season winds down, Triad has a couple of matches and tournaments left to bowl as well as regionals in February.
