2 Resignations and 1 Appointment to Maryville Parks and Recreation Committee

MARYVILLE — The Maryville Board on Wednesday, April 3 accepted the resignations of two members of their Parks and Recreation Committee.
Both Lori Cunningham and Cheri Becker tendered their resignations in writing citing work commitments as their reason for just not having time to devote to the Committee.
Later in the meeting, Mayor Craig Short recommended the appointment of Jeanne Pysz to the Committee. The recommendation was approved.
The Board also received notice of two staff resignations. Brendan Schoen officially resigned from the Maryville Fire Department effective March 29. Brendan was a probationary fire fighter.
Dakota Strackeljahn notified Chief Tony Manley of his resignation from the Maryville Police Department via a letter dated March 30, 2024.
Under legal matters, the Board approved an annexation of the properties located at 1861 and 1831 Lakeview Acres Road in the Village. They also approved a water service and pre-annexation agreement for the property located at 133 Ridgemoor Drive in Glen Carbon.
An amendment to Chapter 152 of the Code of Ordinances was approved. The amendment addresses construction requirements for stormwater drainage and detention, soil erosion and sediment control when building in the Village.
Two payments were authorized to complete the Schiber Court Drainage Improvement Project. The first, in the amount of $23,760.50 was to DMS Contracting, Inc. The second, in the amount of $112,631.76 was for Korte & Luitjohan Contractors, Inc.
Village staff reported on activities for the month of March. The building and zoning department issued 20 permits during the month. Total permit fees collected were $12,107 and total assessed valuation of the improvements was $$2,516,700. 8 of the permits were for new construction.
The Village Fire Department answered 149 calls for service in March. 106 were EMS calls. Chief Dankenbring also updated the board on probationary staff members. Firefighter/EMT Dawson Winkleman is wrapping up fire academy and will graduate on Friday, April 12. Firefighter/EMT Sydni Stevens continues to work assigned shifts and complete in-house training programs.
The Maryville Police Department responded to 679 calls for service and issued 197 citations in March. They answered 12 accident calls.
