St. Jacob Lions Club to host Earth Day Vendor Fair

ST. JACOB — St. Jacob’s activity center at 108 North Douglas Street will be the site of a special vendor fair, featuring various exhibits focused on the environment plus pertinent information, giveaways and much more, being held in observance of Earth Day this Saturday, April 20, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
For a fee of $10 per spot, vendors offering upcycled, handmade, natural or applicable educational materials may participate by contacting Stephanie at 314-952-7525 or sending an e-mail message to [email protected].
A raffle will be conducted with the prizes consisting of two 20-inch bicycles, one each for a boy and girl.
The event is hosted by the St. Jacob Lions Club. Proceeds from vendor income will go to the benefit of the Lions of Illinois Foundation Diabetes Awareness Program.
There will be a giveaway of 20 trees from the Arbor Day Foundation in conjunction with the national observance of the special day devoted to the planting of trees which this year falls on April 26.
To be held both indoors and outside, this vendor fair event will include kids’ crafts, information from the Illinois Solar Education Association, electric-powered vehicles, water testing and monitoring, a beekeeping display, eco-friendly health products from Melaleuca, The Wellness Company, Medicare/life insurance materials, diabetes testing, awareness information and education plus opportunities to recycle eye glasses, hearing aids, keys, cell phones, metal can tabs, gently used shoes, ink cartridges and much more.
