CHS spikers win twice last week

COLLINSVILLE — The Collinsville boys volleyball team took two of three wins last week to raise their record to 8-17 overall and 1-5 in SWC play.
Alton win
Collinsville began play last week with a three set SWC victory at Alton. The Kahoks won 27-29, 28-26, 25-18.
Alton had beaten CHS in two sets at the Belleville East Tournament on March 27.
The Kahoks registered 31 kills in the contest with Andrew Balsitis and Jordan Taylor leading the way with six each. JuPaul Hudson and Kade Simmons both had five.
Jesse Scroggins had four, Evan Wilkerson had three and Austin Zagorski had a pair.
Taylor had eight blocks, Zagorski had five, Balsitis had four with Hudson knocking down three.
Kolin Waligorski had 16 assists with August Kent assisting on 10.
Waligorski had four service aces while Lucas Zagorski had two. Kent and Simmons had one each.
Granite City win
Collinsville hosted Granite City on April 24 taking a two-set win over the Warriors by a 25-12, 25-17 count.
Hudson had five kills while A. Zagorski and Simmons had four each. Stanley Carnahan had three while Taylor had two.
Taylor led the Kahoks in blocks with three while Carnahan had two. Hudson, A. Zagorski and Simmons had one each.
Waligorski had 10 assists while Kent had six.
Collinsville fell to the Warriors in three sets on March 21 in Granite.
Edwardsville loss
On April 25, Collinsville traveled to Edwardsville and fell to the Tigers 25-14, 25-12 in an SWC matchup.
Simmons had four kills while Carnahan had three.
Waligorski had five assists with Kent picking up three.
Robert Freeman had a service ace.
It was the third time this season the two squads had met with Edwardsville winning all three matches including a three-set win on April 19 at the Belleville Althoff tourney and a two set win in Collinsville on April 2.
Upcoming Schedule
Collinsville hosted Belleville East on Tuesday and traveled to Edwardsville to face Metro East Lutheran last night however results were unavailable at press time.
Tonight they are at Belleville West.
Monday sees the Kahoks hosting Alton (Marquette) while O’Fallon comes to town on Tuesday.
