Troy Road Storage Facility Planned

by Randy Pierce

Following unanimous approval by both the Madison County Zoning Board of Appeals and the county board’s building and zoning committee, plans for a storage facility to be located at 110 Troy Road in unincorporated Collinsville are expected to receive final formal authorization next week.

Set to come before the Madison County Board for a vote at its regular monthly meeting, scheduled for next Wednesday, October 16, at 5 p.m., is the request from Accurate Pool and Landscape LLC of 103 3rd Street, Collinsville, owner of the Troy Road property, to rezone the 1.35-acre tract which is northeast of the city near the Interstate 55 interchange.

Jen Hurley, Madison County zoning coordinator, told the ZBA members that the petitioner for this request also owns the 9.24-acre parcel adjacent to where the storage facility will be constructed. She added that the B-4 (wholesale business) zoning classification is the only one of those established by the county where such storage facilities are allowed.

No one was present nor had submitted any written objections to the storage facility request when it was initially heard by the zoning board and also when it was advanced to the county board committee.
