The City of Troy received federal funds for the extension of the Silver Creek Shared Use Path from South Main Street to C A Henning School. Jarvis Township received federal funds for the extension of the Silver Creek Shared Use Path from C A Henning School to Triad High School. Both projects received grant funding through the Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP). ITEP provides funding for community-based projects that expand travel choices and enhancement to the transportation experience by improving the cultural, historic, aesthetic and environmental aspects of our transportation infrastructure. Because federal funds are being used, a public review and comment period is necessary for compliance with National Environmental Policy ACT (NEPA) requirements and the Illinois Department of Transportation’s public involvement policy.
