Editor • As part of its year-end wrap-up meeting on Dec. 15, the Troy City Council approved environmental grant funds for a stormwater detention pond at Harvest Pointe Estates.
Harvest Pointe Estates is a nine-lot, single-family residential project off of Staunton Road, east of North Kimberlin. One of the outlots was converted to a stormwater detention pond to reduce the flooding potential on North Kimberlin.
The current estimated cost for the work is $170,000; so the local match is estimated to be $155,000. The environmental grant is for $15,000.
Troy officials approved the project’s preliminary plat in April. Final improvement plans and the plat were approved in early August. A donation agreement for the detention pond was approved two weeks later. Since then, the contractor has installed the water and sewer lines for the lots. The detention pond work will be bid out in late January.
The next Troy City Council meeting is Jan. 5, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. in city hall, 116 E. Market St.
