Kahok swimmers fare well at sectional meet

The Collinsville boys swimming team had a successful day at the IHSA boys swimming sectional on Feb. 22 in Edwardsville.
Kahok Freshman Nick Hasamear finished in second place in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:04.67. He finished behind O’Fallon’s Justin King who swam a 2:02.71.
Luke Berger of Collinsville brought back a pair of top-five finishes.
He took third in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 49.51. Christopher Meyer of O’Fallon won the race with a time of 47.84 seconds.
Berger finished fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:03.62. Maddox Thompson of Carbondale blew away the field with a time of 56.64 seconds. He beat the second-place finisher Colin Wilson of Jacksonville by almost six seconds.
Kahok Bram Malisbury was fifth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.10. Andre Meyers of Edwardsville won the race in a time of 51.70 seconds.
Edwardsville won the sectional team title with 247.5 points with O’Fallon finishing second with 233.
