Jimmy Ford announces campaign for Illinois House District 112

O’FALLON – Jimmy Ford, a community leader, small-business owner and father of three, today announced his campaign for State Representative in the 112th District, pledging to bring tough, compassionate leadership to Springfield and work for the people of the Metro East.
“Our state is broken because politicians in Springfield care more about themselves than the people they’re supposed to serve and we are all paying the price with a higher cost of living as prices for energy, gas, groceries and healthcare have become unaffordable for working families,” Ford said. “I’m running because you deserve someone tough with compassion on your side. I’ll stand up for you when others don’t. I won’t take any crap when it comes to standing up for you and delivering results.”
Ford is well-known across the Metro East for his mix of grit and heart. As a repossession business owner, he has seen firsthand the struggles that working families face.
“The government isn’t the answer to every problem. In fact, with the wrong leaders, it makes things worse: from skyrocketing energy prices to unbearable property taxes to politicians who don’t seem to care about you and me,” said Ford. “I’ll fix it, or get government out of the way so we can fix it locally. I’ve poured my heart and soul into this community: building a business, raising a family, and helping those in need. I am not going to stand by while weak politicians and extreme agendas destroy what makes our community special.”
Ford, a working man and a Republican, has lived in the O’Fallon area for nearly 42 years. In addition to running his business, he is the First Officer/Diver with O’Fallon’s Underwater Search & Recovery Team, serves on the O’Fallon City Council and is the region’s top civilian fundraiser for Special Olympics Illinois, raising tens of thousands of dollars through events like Let’s Go to Jail for Special Olympics.
“The people of the 112th District deserve a representative who will always be on their side, someone with the toughness to fight and the compassion to lead,” Ford said. “That’s exactly the kind of leadership I’ll deliver in Springfield.”

The 112th District includes all or parts of Bethalto, Caseyville, Collinsville, Edwardsville, Fairmont City, Fairview Heights, Glen Carbon, Granite City, Madison, Maryville, O’Fallon, Pontoon Beach, Roxana, Shiloh, Swansea and Wood River.
