Tri-Township Public Library gifts community night of free holiday fun at Sky Zone

On Dec. 19, the Tri-Township Public Library spread some holiday cheer by hosting a “Jump Into the Holidays” night at Sky Zone in Fairview Heights. The event was entirely free and open to the public, offering families an evening of active play at no cost.

Breaking away from traditional library programming, Programming Coordinators Tori Potter and Sierra Spencer at the Tri-Township Public Library wanted to provide a gift to the community that was accessible to everyone. No library cards were required to participate, ensuring that every family in the area had the opportunity to join the celebration.

“We were so excited to offer something new this year with Jump Into the Holidays!” said Potter. “One of my New Year’s Resolutions is to expand further what programs we are offering and to think outside the box—and the building—by bringing you more unique, ‘on the move’ experiences. We hope all our families had a fun night and we look forward to offering more opportunities like this in the new year!”

The event saw a massive turnout, with residents of all ages taking over the trampolines and foam pits. By hosting the event at the Fairview Heights Sky Zone, the library successfully brought the “library experience” outside of its walls and into the community’s social life.

The Tri-Township Public Library continues to prioritize community engagement and looks forward to offering more innovative programs in the coming year.
