Troy City Council approves fourth phase of Liberty Place

Editor • The Homes at Liberty Place are about to get some more neighbors.
The large subdivision on Troy’s northwestern corner, across Old Troy Road from Father McGivney Catholic High School, has streets named for conservative US civilian and military leaders—Ronald Reagan, Dwight Eisenhower, Douglas MacArthur and George Patton, among others, like UK Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain.
At its final 2025 meeting on Dec. 15, Troy City Councilmen approved an amendment to a final plat for lots 251-257 and an additional 10-foot easement.
An aerial view of the subdivision reveals additional current and future street names—George Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, Ulysses S. Grant and Theodore Roosevelt. There’s even a court named for President James A. Garfield, who was assassinated just 200 days into his term.
In other action, Troy officials applied for community development block grant (CDBG) funds from Madison County to reconstruct the second phase of Zenk Road from Redbud Lane to Oakwood Drive.
The next Troy City Council meeting is Jan. 5, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. in city hall, 116 E. Market St.
