Beyond the Ballot Backs Dylan Blaha for Congress in IL-13
SPRINGFIELD – New year, same generation demanding more than symbolic politics and empty promises. Ordinary people know incremental fixes won’t solve systemic failures rooted in greed and corporate control. That’s why Beyond the Ballot is proud to endorse Dylan Blaha for Congress in Illinois 13th Congressional District. While Washington remains captive to wealthy elites, Dylan Blaha represents a clear break from politics as usual. A decorated U.S. Army veteran and scientist, he is fighting for real, structural change, not incremental patches designed to make broken systems more efficient.
“Dylan’s candidacy is exactly the kind of people-powered politics our movement was built to champion,” said Sofia Bari, Deputy Director of Beyond the Ballot. “It’s time for leaders who do more than just show up. Dylan is stepping up not just to win an election, but to build lasting power capable of delivering for working people.”
Unlike his opponent, he refuses PAC money and rejects the influence of both corporate and AIPAC-aligned interests, running on what Beyond the Ballot has termed a strength through peace agenda. To govern from the left is to reject the lie that endless militarization equals security, and that we must instead enforce peace and international cooperation, not blank-check foreign policy shaped by powerful, wealthy global elites.
“It’s an honor to receive Beyond the Ballot’s endorsement. Our campaign is focused on fighting back against big money and making life better for working people,” said Dylan Blaha. “Young people, especially Gen Z, continue to feel the impacts of our affordability crisis, and I will do everything in my power to give them a brighter future. We will get out of this crisis with policies like universal healthcare, free school lunches and the Green New Deal.”
We believe democracy only works when leaders put progress ahead of profit. Dylan represents that standard, and we are proud to support his campaign to deliver real results, not personal profit, for the working people of Illinois’s 13th District.
