Sharon Lee Loyet


February 10, 1952 – February 18, 2026

Sharon Lee Loyet, age 74, of Marine, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2026, at Evercare of Edwardsville in Edwardsville.

She was born on Sunday, Feb. 10, 1952, in East Saint Louis, IL, the daughter of Eugene W. “Gene” and Janet (née Faires) Keller.

She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Marine. She was also a member of 4-H and the Madison County Home Extension.

Sharon attended Marine School and was a member of the Honor Society at Triad High School, St. Jacob. She played the piano, organ and saxophone. She was initiated into Sigma Tau Delta – honorary English majors at Illinois State University, Normal, graduating in May, 1974, with a B.S.E. degree in English. She became a member of the Catholic Church at Normal, IL. She taught for several years. She married Gerald Joseph Loyet of Troy, in August 1975, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Marine, IL; they divorced in July of 1983. She was employed by A.G. Edwards investment firm, which later sold to Wells Fargo, St. Louis, MO, for 27 years, retiring in September, 2011. Sharon enjoyed painting anything, including painting pictures on her Volkswagen when she was 16 years old. She also loved to read and collect crystal plates and depression glass. Sharon loved the music of Janis Joplin.

Grandchild – Samantha Loyet, Greenville, AL

Grandchild – Jacob “Jake” Lauer, Florida

Grandchild – Blaze Loyet, Marine

Grandchild – Kendallyn Loyet, Marine

She was preceded in death by:

Mother – Janet Marie Keller Hall, née Faires (died 1/6/2018)

Brother – Walter M. Keller (Died 1/26/2015)

Stepfather – Wilbur L. “Bud” Hall (died 10/28/2019)

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

A Private Graveside Service and Interment for family will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, at Marine Cemetery in Marine, IL.
