Richeson’s fraud trial continued again; this time until June

Guideon Richeson’s income tax fraud trial has been continued again. What was supposed to happen in early January was moved to early April and is now slated for June 8, 2026.

The Illinois Attorney General’s office in Springfield has charged Richeson, who owns funeral homes in Troy and St. Jacob, with 10 counts of income tax fraud and one charge of failure to keep proper books and records back in July 2025. The Illinois Attorney General’s office told the Times-Tribune in April that it does not comment on pending litigation.

The new trial date is June 8 at 1 p.m. in Room 314 of Madison County Criminal Court at 509 Ramey St. in Edwardsville before Judge Neil Schroeder.
