Wilken Development starts construction on Autumn Crest in Highland

By Charles Bolinger

Editor • Grading and earthwork began March 27 on Highland’s newest residential development, Autumn Crest, located at the southwest corner of Sportsman Road and Frank Watson Parkway. Using a recycled name from 2022, Austin and Brad Wilken of Wilken Development have embarked on their latest venture – 56 luxury apartments over four buildings, according to documentation approved by the Highland City Council in December 2025. There will be two buildings featuring three-bedroom, two-bath apartments of about 1,365-square-feet each for a total of 32 and two buildings of two-bedroom, two-bath townhomes of about 1,250-square-feet each for a total of 24. There will also be 50 single-vehicle garages for tenant parking and a community center with shared amenities and a space for residents to gather. Construction should take 18 months, though it’s weather-dependent and the company expects completion in late 2027. Wilken has four other rental properties in Highland plus two in Carlyle.
