New Triad Middle School construction photos from early April

Holland Construction employees continue to steadily build Triad’s new middle school on US 40, just east of the current middle school, which opened in 1959. The new middle school should ready for occupancy, weather permitting, by October 2027. (Ray Popkess photo)

There will be a dedicated entry/exit from US 40 to a new parking lot in front of the school. (Ray Popkess photo)

The new Triad Middle School will feature a student and staff storm shelter, shown above, that allegedly will be built to withstand winds of 250 mph or an IF4 tornado. (Ray Popkess photo)

These cranes that have been helping install modular walls, the chimney for the school’s art kiln and other pieces of the new Triad Middle School are visible from quite a distance on Route 4. These images were taken in early April. (Ray Popkess photo)
